Luttrell Pyefinch was engaged to design a music facility for Mount Carmel College. Rationalising and coordinating under used and corridor and storage spaces, the project presented an opportunity to upgrade the areas, whilst creating space for a new faculty and facility increasing amenity for the school.

The original space was gutted in order to reorganise and integrate new music practice rooms. Acoustic separation was put into place between the music rooms and other learning spaces, which had not been of a high-quality in the past, and splashes of bright colour cheered up previously drab spaces to provide a high-quality learning environment for the students and instil a sense of pride in their school community.
