Mount Carmel’s Middle School was housed in a challenging existing building that required repurposing. The school’s desire to redevelop the built environment for middle school students presented an opportunity to provide a complete refresh to increase the overall amenity to the school.

Acoustics, colour palette and materials were highly considered to allow a range of activities to take place flexibly within a small area and to provide comfortable, safe interiors for the students and staff. Panels of white glazed brick were inserted to unite the previously disparate facade elements, providing a clean yet familiar facade to the leafy street beyond.
